Ivory Wave, Laura Stevenson and the Cans, and Odd Folk at WIUX Station House

March 5, 2012
By

Laura Stevenson and The Cans, Ivory Wave, and Odd Folk played a show at IU’s WIUX Station House this past Friday March 2nd. The three acts were a great combination and each added their own little gem to a great show.

Ivory Wave started off their set with a cry for silence and then a sudden burst of sound that instantly prepared the crowd for set number two. If you are a fan of Pavement or perhaps Cloud Nothings, then you will appreciate the sound and energy this band brings to their performance. Each song starts and ends with the same amount of intensity and one can help but feel a rush of excitement as to what will happen next. The band has a similar sound to Pavement and Cloud Nothings, and they certainly do capture one in need to move to the wave of sound.

Laura Stevenson and the Cans is the indie-pop sensation from Brooklyn and they played a fantastic show. Odd Folk consists of Paul Cherewick from Chicago and he started things off for the evening.
